Description

In level III art courses, students will analyze visual characteristics of natural and human-made subjects in a variety of

ways, illustrating flexibility in solving problems, creating multiple solutions, and thinking imaginatively. Students will

solve visual problems and will develop multiple solutions for designing ideas, for clarifying presentations, and for

evaluating consumer choices. Students also will trace influences of various cultures on contemporary artworks; will

analyze original artworks, portfolios, and exhibitions; and will provide examples of in-depth exploration of one or

more themes.

 

 In level IV art courses, students will create themes for personal artworks that integrate a broad range of visual

observation, experiences, and imagination. They will identify and illustrate art history as a major source of

interpretation. Students also will develop evaluative criteria for selecting artworks to include in a portfolio and senior

exhibition that demonstrate a high level of creativity and expertise in one or more art areas.

“Natures Mirror: Reflective Landscape” Take photographs to make an album of five pictures of a landscape some how reflected. Find a way to show your landscape/natural beauty in a reflection using a puddle, lake, river, a mirror or other reflective surfaces that you can photograph.

“Artistic: Shadows” Take photographs to make an album of five pictures of shadows. The opposite of light is dark; the absence of light is shadow. Be creative in this album.

“Artistic: Color” Take photographs to make an album of five pictures of one color. Shoot whatever inspires you. The color should be the focus of the images. Don't be afraid to be creative.

“This is no SELFIE: Self Portrait” Take photographs to make an album of five pictures of yourself in different settings. Each photo should be planned out and arranged using a friend to stand in before the portrait is taken. Once you are happy with the compositions you have planned have your friend take the picture for your self-portraits. DO NOT TAKE ANY SELFIES!

“Artistic: Candy” Take photographs to make an album of five pictures of candy. Your artistic interpretation this week should be inspired by something sweet.

“Hands” Take photographs to make an album of five pictures of Hands, Capture Hands in interesting and Non-Cliché ways. Focus on angles and lightening for an emotional feel. Usually the face is the strongest element in the frame; with the hands being second. Make the hands the most important element in your image this week.

“Alphabet” Take photographs to make an album of five pictures of alphabet letters as they naturally occur in nature or your surroundings.

Students will use large drawing paper and create a composition of 3 hands at least two of the hands must have two or more fingers coming toward the viewer.  All hands must be larger than life.  The back ground composition is up to the individual student.
