Jason Lawson

Principal Bio

Mr. Jason Lawson joins the Italy ISD team as the high school principal with 17 years in education. He served most recently as an assistant principal in Dallas ISD but brings experience from Maypearl and Grandview.  Mr. Lawson attended high school at Palmer and decided if he couldn’t beat the Gladiators, he would join them.   Lawson played baseball at Cedar Valley College and completed his undergraduate degree at the University of North Texas. His master’s degree is from Lamar University. He was named an athletic director at the age of twenty-five and received a national award as a Double Goal coach from the Positive Coaching Alliance.

Mr. Lawson has been married to Grace for 18 years and they have three beautiful children, Braeden, Mason, and Gracie Rae. He is excited to be a part of such a great community and school district. Lawson is eager to meet our students this year and watch them be successful in the classroom as well as their extracurricular activities.

Lawson commented, “I am looking forward to working with the great teachers, coaches, sponsors, and Dr. Schwind to make sure all Italy High School students have opportunities for growth in academics and beyond.”
