2024-2025 Student Drug Testing Monday, August 5, 2024 Junior High at 9:00 AM High School at 10:00 AM Italy High School Cafetorium Once again this school year, Italy ISD is offering annual student drug testing as part of our comprehensive drug-testing program. Drug and alcohol abuse negatively affect a student’s safety, personal life, health, and academic performance. With parental consent, students in grades 7-12 who plan to participate in any school-sponsored extracurricular activities, as well as student drivers, are encouraged to participate. This program will consist of an initial annual drug test as well as random testing throughout the school year. The Italy ISD School Board approved Drug Testing Guidelines and consent form can be found at this link: https://5il.co/20k6t . All students planning to participate in ANY school-sponsored extracurricular activities, as well as student drivers, are encouraged to complete their drug testing on Monday, August 5, 2024 in the Italy High School Cafetorium; Junior High at 9:00 AM and High School at 10:00 AM Before a student enrolled in 7th-12th grade may participate in any school-sponsored extracurricular activities, receive a District parking permit, or drive on campus, both the student and the parent/guardian shall agree in writing that the student shall submit to the initial annual drug test and subsequent random tests in accordance with the attached guidelines. Extracurricular activities include, but are not limited to Athletics, Band, Cheerleading, FFA, Civil Air Patrol, National Honor Society, National Junior Honor Society, National Art Honor Society, UIL One Act Play, and UIL academic competitions.

Every year, every student, new, returning and transfer must register their student. Go to www.italyisd.org select Registration and follow the instructions.
To attend pre-k in the upcoming school year, students must be 4 years old or older on or before September 1st; eligible kindergarten students must be 5 years or older on or before September 1st.
Required Documents for Registration
1. Student’s Certified Birth Certificate
2. Current Immunization Records
3. Student’s Social Security Card
4. Proof of Residency in the form of a current (within the last 30 days) electric, gas, water bill or lease agreement. (No other documents will be accepted)
5. Parent/Legal Guardian’s Government Issued Photo Identification. ID address must match the address on proof of residency.
6. Proof of Income (PreK Only)
• Current paycheck stubs – at least 2
• TANF/SNAP letter that indicates you receive benefits
• Child Support – Court ordered or other arrangements made (Divorce Decree will not be accepted as proof of child support)
• SSI Disability Proof of Benefits
• Current 1040 Income Tax Return for Self Employed
Students must meet one of the qualifying criteria to register for pre-kindergarten at no charge.
• Qualifies for the Free/Reduced Lunch program
• Is a Limited English Speaker (An oral language proficiency test will be administered at a later date)
• Is homeless
• Is the child of an active-duty member of the armed forces of the U.S.
• Is the child of a member of the armed forces of the U.S. who was injured or killed while serving on active duty
• Is or has been in the conservatorship of the Department of Family and Protective Services following an adversary hearing
• If they do not qualify, we offer a tuition-based pre-k at $400 a month.

1. Personal Information
a. Please make sure you carefully read each field as you fill out information and answer exactly what it is asking

2. ID/Driver’s License and Proof of Residency
a. Your ID/DL MUST match the address on your proof of residency document. For returning students, if it doesn’t, you will not be allowed to complete registration. New students have 30 days. Changes? www.dps.texas.gov
3. Proof of Residency Examples
a. Utility bill (electric, water, etc... NO phone, TV, internet)
b. Renter’s agreement or lease
c. Builder’s contract
d. Purchase contract
4. Socio-Economic Form
a. PLEASE complete this form so that our schools can continue to receive federal and state funding (i.e., Title I and State Compensatory Education), which directly impacts our campuses and students.
5. Register from home
a. Returning students can complete everything at home.
b. New students can complete the “New Student” section

If you are a parent of a returning student and infomation like your email, phone number, or address have changed PLEASE DO NOT UPDATE THIS INFORMATION WITHIN REGISTRATION! When you are logged into your parent portal for registration, before you begin Registration, Click on Student Data Maintenance and update your information as needed. Then the Campus Secretary will push your data to the SIS and you can begin Registration. Remember, to get logged into your Parent Portal you need to use the email that was used last year and matches what we have in Ascender Student Information System.

Need to Knows About Schedule Pick-Up
What do you do FIRST?
1. Complete the online registration process starting July 23, and upload
any requested documents - this MUST be completed before any schedule will
be given to a student
2. Items needing to uploaded:
a. Proof of Residency - water bill, electric bill, rental agreement, or contract on
a house
b. Photo ID of the person registering the student - can be uploaded
while completing online registration. We can make a copy of this if unable to
upload.
3. YOU MUST COMPLETE THE ONLINE REGISTRATION!!!
4. Make certain that your student is up to date on immunization
requirements - ALL 7th Grade students have required vaccinations. Anyone
new to the district must provide a complete immunization record. If your student has
medical concerns, please begin the paperwork process with your physician now so you
can bring the necessary paperwork needed to have medications on campus. This is
especially true for students who may have asthma, seizures, severe allergies, and
diabetes.
5. YOU MUST COMPLETE THE ONLINE REGISTRATION!!!!
6. Student Drivers will need….
a. 24-25 Parking permit
b. $20 for permit
c. Copy of student’s driver’s license
d. Copy of insurance that has your student’s name on it

only. Please write item, bid amount, your name and phone number in a sealed
