Italy ISD Spring Safety Week Italy ISD will host Spring Safety Week January 8-11, 2024. Throughout the week, administration will lead campuses through different safety drills. The safety of our students and staff is a top priority.

Game Update!

Italy ISD: Basketball Spectator Guidelines We have jumped into basketball season, which carries with it the same excitement and passion that Gladiators show when supporting all our teams. However, the Dome is a much different venue than our stadium. Voices carry, which is wonderful when what we hear is cheering. What is not good is when the voices that carry are cussing, jeering or personally criticizing the referees, coaches, or players. Your price of admission to the game gives you just that, admission. It does not give you permission to be anything but respectful in your words and actions. Failure to exercise control can result in ejection from a game and further suspension from future games. It is the Italy Gladiator expectation that we bring pride and good sportsmanship to every game and set the example for all students and other spectators that Italy Gladiators know how to properly support their teams. Good afternoon, high school students! My name is Jade Weaver, and I serve as the Associate Director for the Hunt Leadership Scholars Program at Southern Methodist University (SMU). This program is under the purview of the Hegi Family Career Development Center, a branch of Student Affairs. The Hunt Scholars Program is an endowed scholarship that was established by the Hunt Family in 1993. The aim of the program is to recognize and award students who exhibit exceptional leadership capacity along with their strong academic performance. Attached is a flyer that shares more information about the scholarship. As seniors are considering their options for post-secondary education, please keep this opportunity in mind. The application deadline is January 15th, but please encourage students to apply early. More information about the program can be found at smu.edu/hunt. Dear Parents and Families, We will be honoring and celebrating our veterans on Thursday, November 9, 2023, at 10:00 AM. This celebratory program will be in the Old Gym at Italy High School. We would be honored for you to be our guest for this event. Our Civil Air Patrol will present the colors, our band will play a tribute to the armed forces, and we will have a guest speaker. We hope that you will be able to join us for this special program.

Attendance Matters The school day, from start to finish, is vital for the proper educational development and learning for every student. School Hours Italy JH/HS 7:35-4:05 Stafford Elementary 7:45-4:15 Tardies/Early Pick-Ups/Absences are counted throughout the school year, and when a student reaches a certain amount, attendance/learning recovery will be required. Promotion/Course Credit Students risk promotion to the next grade or loss of course credit, even if they are passed, if they have not been in school 90% of the days.
